Recent Monotype and Viscosity workshop held at the Gourmet Gallery in Easton, Maryland March 19, 2006.  Thanks to Sheryl Southwick, proprietor ana Artist for hosting this workshop in her Gallery.   Eight local artists attended, and did we ever have a super fun time together.
This was a non-toxic workshop that exclusively used AKUA Intaglio and AKUA Kolor inks, and Gayle Ayers wonderful PIN PRESS.

We ran out of clothespins!!!

Colorful, inky, creative FUN!

At the end of the day, it was unanimous that there should be more opportunities to continue with this wonderful fun.  Watch for future workshops at the Gourmet Gallery.  We may even branch out into etching on copper!  And it is all done with safe chemistries and techniques, thanks to AKUA inks and Keith Howard's recommended methods. More and more artists are returning to (or trying out) Printmaking now that there are safer alternatives for this wonderful and creative art technique. So many of the attendees to my workshops and classes are longtime watercolorists with wonderful drawing and painting skills.  These folks slide right into printmaking with amazing speed and transparency...converting one skill set into another similar application...and are producing simply beautiful results!
