RHYTHMS DEL MUNDO: ARTIST PROJECT EARTH -APE-
APE: Aims to help create a better world by bringing the power of music and other arts to 21st century challenges. It will
bring appropriate action, raise funds and facilitate awareness with regard to environmental disasters, climate changes and
related challenges (global warming). The Asian Tsunami of 2004 was the catalyst for the Rhythms del Mundo Project & the
Sundance Festival its birthplace. The idea was hatched in that creative environment to bring together members of the Buena
Vista Club in a colloboration with Western Artist to record popular famliar songs, fusing them with exciting Latin rhythmns..
-APE-
This is an ambitious project, that in my opinion is on the frontier of what music can do by bringing people of diverse
backgrounds & different fields together for a good cause. Not all tracks are danceable, most are mid -tempo to down tempo,
but you'll be putting your money to a good cause. This time it is action with music, as the refrain says: "actions speak
louder than words".
STING sings a marvelously midtempo Spanish version of "Fragility", DIDO & FAITHLESS lay sentimental voices
to " One step to far", CHRIS MARTIN of COLDPLAY reworks "Clocks", El LELE de los VAN VAN w/RADIOHEAD lay
a soothing bolero, COCO FREEMAN w/ U2 fuse "Still haven't found what I'm looking for" pulling off a danceable
track. It features IBRAHIM FERRER & OMARA PORTUONDO of the Buena Vista Club.

The self titled CD of another new great NYC Band. This CD is an indication of the return to the roots of Salsa: Guaguanco
& Rumba This new band that will be providing us with new great Salsa de la Calle. There are many great tracks with nuances
of the classic 70's period. It is a rare treat when we like & discover 3-4 good songs
on a CD. The great news about it: you will like all the songs on this CD. Look out for the very uptempo Boogalu !
