DEMONSTRATIVE CDS & ART

Promotional CDS
Disclaimer:

This page will illustrate & describe demonstrative cds of the music I have available for listening pleasure. This page is not an advertisement to sell music. Rather, it is to highlight my knowledge of music as a DJ. The design art I created to go along with it. Consider it a labor of love. This is my art.

Although, I am known to be a programmer of Latin music in clubs and lounges in New York City, its important to illustrate my versatility. My knowledge of music and its various genres go far beyond what I actually play out. I love this stuff. It is safe to say that by default, some of it will be Latin influenced. A direct result of my background. I have not yet heard anything that excites me like a great Salsa band or track or
anything like the great energy of Salsa beat other than Afrobeat.

However, music does not have boundaries and borders or language barriers. I consider all music good music. Good music will move you in some way.
Some DJ's prefer to play one genre, I like to span the globe. It develops the ear.

My thirst for music is unquenchable. Hope you will enjoy the blurbs. Last updated: 7/04

Genre: Salsa Folklore

A body of music highlighting the core tracks of Latin rhythmns that are still being recorded today. A cd filled with jewels. This is music that has been played over generations. These are the forefathers and mothers of Salsa. Like Jazz music has standards Latin music has it own. My appreciation for what some people might call old and outdated is a foundation of the roots of this music. Everything gets old but certain things live on. The connoseurs of all ages of this music will appreciate such great standards highlighted on this cd.

Another retro mix of solid music that made its mark during the days of roller disco, surviving the trends of commercial radio. This is a cd with songs where the artists worked you into a climax. This funky music crossed cultural genres. Music from the Danceteria Club days, where I decided I was a DeeJay. The first club that let me in at age 15.

New Wave: 80's Alternative
nuwave.jpg
Genre: 80's New Wave: Other Music

Music for for the "30 something" generation. White Funk. Either you know it or you don't, for some it was the alternative to album oriented rock. The New Wave was lots of British, some German and Americans creating dance influenced rock. A new alternative sound that gravitated to the college crowd. In NYC, WLIR FM "in beautiful downtown Hempstead," L.I. was one of the first commercial stations to program this music. "Off the boat" hosted by on-air personality Willoughby featured great new imports. A party platter of songs to go with the " pretty in pink" theme party.
