This page will showcase some of my design work. Much of it is related to my work history as a DJ in New York City indicated by the text. My design art has been influenced by a number of things. Like say, LP Record covers from my music collection. I've always thought it important to create my own graphic representation, to incorporate my art per say, as an extension of what I do, like sampling. Alot of it tries to capture the joyful feeling of the music and the aspect of dance, perhaps even the visual culture for some Latinos. For example local items at the bodegas. It is where we first learned about Goya. The company not the artist.. It was always Goya over Libby's and never Hunts. Food habits. I remember WADO AM Radio always played. We called it " What da?" as kids. Conversations of Spanish& English always ended up back to Spanish throughout the transaction with the clerks and store owners. Bodegueros. It was very funny to me. Very much like lessons for my young first generation.
It's a very comical cultural thing.

Most of my work is inspired by Latin American pop art from the 50's. I'm a big fan of the Spanish director Almodovar and his films. Whenever I see Almodovar's film graphics I'm reminded of the influences of Spanish art and its artistic individuality. In some cases, the colors are reflective of the pastel colors one sees with a walk through Old San Juan, P.R. The result of the early Spanish colonies that influence the architecture in most the Antilles.

My graphic work is very straight forward and understated, since I avoid being convoluted.
Its goal is to be poster card.
Press on if interested. Hope you'll enjoy it.
