Post’s College of Management, Director of the Center for Management Analysis and highly regarded utility expert.  Joining him are distinguished representatives from the political and governmental agency sectors: Kevin Law, LIPA President and CEO, who was formerly the Chief Deputy County Executive and General Counsel for the Suffolk County Executive; and Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone, who has spearheaded a number of energy initiatives and has been cited by Newsday as a leader of the Coalition to Re-power Long Island.  Co-sponsored with the C.W. Why Use a CFL?

NPR.org, February 8, 2007 · According to the federal government, if every American home replaced just one light bulb with an Energy Star approved compact fluorescent bulb (CFL), the United States would save enough energy to light more than 2.5 million homes for a year and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of nearly 800,000 cars.  Note: CFLs should be recycled.  IKEA is one of the few retailers that recyle CFLs.  Since CFLs contain mercury you should not break these bulbs.  You can also recycle through your Town’s STOP programs. Earth911.org can help locate local recycling centers.
