BEEP! BEEP!

Congratulations to Alyssa Frankenfield and Amanda Wrobleski of Pleasant Hills for being chosen for the 12U Pittsburgh Lady Roadrunners Traveling Fastpitch Team for the 2006 season where they will compete in tournament level competitions.  The girls attended team tryouts in Moon Township and Bethel Park where they performed various drills in fielding, batting, running and, of course, pitching and catching.

CONGRATULATIONS, GIRLS!

The importance of mouthpieces in Fastpitch
mouthpiece.jpg

You probably know someone, or know somebody who knows someone, who has been hit in the mouth by a batted ball. In fast pitch softball, the pitcher, 3rd baseman and 1st baseman play quite close to the batter and occasionally reaction times are just not fast enough. Often the result of being hit in the mouth is broken teeth or worse yet, teeth knocked completely out. Mouthpieces have been successfully used in contact sports for years and have a proven track record. They are readily available and affordable with a price range of $1-$3. All it takes is once and they can pay for themselves in untold trauma, not to mention thousands of dollars. Consider wearing one. Your toothbrush can get the dirt out of your teeth...your mouthpiece can keep your teeth out of the dirt. Get one and get used to wearing it. Remember avoiding an injury situation before it happens is better than treating it after it happens.

ATTENTION ANIMAL LOVERS--
your help is just a "click" away!

The Animal Rescue Site was founded to help feed and care for some of the 27 million unwanted animals given to shelters in the US every year.

Since its launch in July of 2002, the site has established itself as a clear leader in online activism and a dynamic force in the effort to give all animals the happy, healthy lives they deserve. In The Animal Rescue Site's first year of operation, 22.9 million bowls of food were funded for animals in need.

With the simple, daily click of the purple "Feed an Animal in Need" button, visitors fund bowls of food for formerly neglected or abused animals now living in shelters or sanctuaries. Visitors pay nothing. Site sponsors pay for all funding, which benefits two leading animal welfare charities: The Fund for Animals and North Shore Animal League America.  The Animal Rescue Site relies on its passionate supporters. Visitors increase the number of clicks, and the number of animals helped, by spreading the word to family and friends.

So, please...log on to www.theanimalrescuesite.com today and click the "Feed an Animal in Need" button!  You can even have a reminder email sent to you daily -- just look for the "Remember to Click" bar on the left of the screen.

It's easy, free and best of all you can help feed those animals unloved and living in shelters across the country.

Your click saves lives!
