Recital instructions

In order to make this an enjoyable and successful recital, please carefully read over the following instructions.

What to wear: Your attire can be from dressy casual (church clothes) to super spiffy like a tux.

How to get there: The address for Hamilton Baptist Church is 16 E Colonial Hwy
Hamilton, VA 20158. You can also see the location on hamiltonbaptist.com under the “Who We Are” section.

When to arrive: Please arrive no later than 10 minutes before the recital starts.

What to bring: Your instrument, sheet music or book, tuner, and accompaniment cd (Make sure it’s labeled with the student's name and title of piece and track number)

How long will it last: Each recital will last approximately 1 hour.

Standard recital etiquette is expected of all attendees. This includes and is not limited to:

-Entering and exiting the recital hall only during applause.

-No running inside the recital hall.

-Some performers may be playing longer, multi-part works. Please wait to applause until the performer is finished playing.

-No flash photography is permitted during a performance; it is very distracting to the musician.

-Please be respectful and courteous to all performers.

Recital Time!

Here are the details for both the voice/strings/woodwind/theatre/nylon guitar recitals and piano recitals. Adult students of all disciplines...see below...there is a special combined recital time that is just for YOU ! ! !

Please respond by email and not in person or by phone. There’s a ton of folks to get scheduled so Mr. Wayne & Ms. Jennene need it in writing in case they goof it up and have to go back and look at it 6 or 7 times…hahahahahahaha J

We have reserved Hamilton Baptist Church again for our recitals! We are so blessed to have such a beautiful facility and a fantastic piano on which to perform.

VOICE/ STRINGS/ WOODWIND/ THEATRE & NYLON GUITAR RECITAL

Date: Sunday November 1, 2009

Times: 1:00 guitar recital only, (all other disciplines) 2:30, 4:00, 5:30, 7:00

Location: Hamilton Baptist Church in Hamilton, Virginia

Dress: Nice Casual to Spiffy Fabulous!

Recital Fee: $10.00 per family, which pays for piano tuning, church/room rental, equipment rental, etc. Please just turn that in ASAP or with your lesson payment and note in the memo section of the check that you’ve done so. Thanks! J

Each recital will be 60 minutes in length. Just email us with your first and 2^nd choice of a recital time and we will email you back to confirm your time. Once we receive your recital payment we will pen you in!

NOTE: Teacher will recommend whether student should use CD or live Accompaniment or perform unaccompanied (fee would be charged for live accompaniment). We will then decide with you which route to go and we will make arrangements with an accompanist as needed.

PIANO RECITAL & ALL ADULT RECITAL

Date: Sunday, November 15, 2009

Times: 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 (Adults only at 7pm- all disciplines)

Location: Hamilton Baptist Church in Hamilton, Virginia

Each recital will be only 50 minutes in length. Just email us with your first and 2^nd choice of a recital time and we will email you back to confirm your time. Once we receive your recital payment we will pen you in!

We would love for all our students to participate in the recitals, however if you are unable to participate, please let us know that as well.

Students of all age and skill levels are enthusiastically invited to participate. Musical selections will be prepared under the guidance of each student’s teacher. It is possible that a teacher may feel like a newer student may not be ready to participate in recitals yet. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Recitals at Wayne’s World Music are fun, low stress events with lots of great music!

Even if you are not participating as a performer, we invite and encourage you to come and be an observer and cheer on fellow students, and please bring some friends and family.
