New Students

Welcome new students!  We are glad you are joining us!  Please take some time and look over the website, including the policies and yearly calendar, and let us know if you have any questions.

All new students are subject to a one month evaluation period, (Which yes, you have to pay for.  Nothing is free these days!) You get to try us, we get to try you!  This helps us both to insure a great student/teacher fit, aptitude for the discipline and willingness to learn. We'll let you know asap if we anticipate any issues that need resolving.  We would greatly appreciate any knowledge about any learning issues or special abilities and/or needs your student might possess.  We like to create a personalized and specialized learning environment for every student here.  We have and will never turn away a student because of any special need, gift or challenge.  With this being said, our goal is to help your student have the most positive learning experience possible. This is all dependent upon parent communication. You know your student better than anyone else and we depend on you to share your student's strengths, weaknesses and anything else that will help us make this a great experience for them!

Our main objective at our studios, is to provide a comfortable and safe studio space (that is also technologically hip) to encourage learning and create engaging musical enrichment through fun, challenging and thought provoking lessons.

Supplies: that you will need for your first lesson, if you are taking lessons with any of the teachers in Suites 4 or 6.

    1. Music Book Bag, or Tote Bag
    2. Pencils - we love Ticonderoga #2's!
    3. Spiral Notebook 8.5 x 11 for piano, strings & woodwind students
3b. 3 Ring Binder 1 - 2 inches, loaded w/ paper, & tabs... for guitar, voice and bass students
    4. Tuners and Metronomes - ask us we may have a few in stock or can recommend the best ones to use, and where to get them. All string, guitar & bass students need tuners. Late beginners/Intermediate and beyond in all disciplines need metronomes.
    5. New Student Info Sheet - You can download and print this from the link below.  Please bring it with you to your first lesson.
       6. String Students -  Bring ALL books and music you are studying in school.
    7. Violin and Viola Students -  need Kun Collapsible Shoulder Rest. Available at amazon.com.

Supplies: you will need for your first lessons, if you are taking lessons with any of the guys in suite #5

Bassists and Guitarists: need only to a 3 ring binder with some paper in it, and your guitar (do not bring any guitar cables or amps) and any old materials from previous lessons/instruction.  We'll add in tuners, metronomes and books as we evaluate your abilities after the first few lessons.  Please bring in a filled out "Student Info Sheet," veiw and print it with the link below, and bring a smile, questions and a check for one month's tuition made out to "Wayne's World Music."

Young guitarists do not necessarily need to own or bring a guitar for our first lesson, so if you do not yet own one yet let us know.  We have every variety of guitar here and for young students aged 12 younger we really recommend them starting studies on a nylon guitar as it is an inexpensive way to start ($150-ish) and there are no cables and amp to lug around, the strings are much wider and easier to push than a steel stringed instrument which makes much less pain on young tender fingers, and they come in four sizes, which we have here to make sure the guitar fits your student properly, which means they will get more enjoyment when practicing with it!

Pianists: need only a spiral notebook, please make it 8-1/2 x 11!!!  Or Mr. Wayne will not be happy!  and please bring any old materials from previous lessons/instruction, and a totebag for your books is often helpful for the young students to make sure they keep all materials together in one spot-  Please bring in a filled out "Student Info Sheet," veiw and print it with the link below, and bring a smile, questions and a check for one month's tuition made out to "Wayne's World Music."

E-mail is the best and fastest way to get a hold of us.  The above link takes you to our e-mail addresses.
