Wondering what to get the budding musician in your family? Here are
some suggestions from the teachers at Wayne's World!
Our woodwind teachers Ms. Yvonne and Ms. Julie recommend:
- Play-Along books and CDs, available for any instrument
at mostmusic stores (ex/ movie music, Broadway tunes, swing)
- CD recordings of great flute performances--artists like James
Galway, Jean Pierre Rampal, Hubert Laws (jazz), Jeanne Baxtresser, and William Bennett
- CD recordings of great clarinet performances--artists like Stanley Drucker, Paquio
d'Rivera (latin jazz), and Benny Goodman
- Vertical Flute/Clarinet stand for holding your instrument
- Metronomes, music stands, stand lights and tuners
Our Voice teachers Ms. Jennene and Ms. Alyssa recommend:
- Tickets to see a show at Wolftrap! Lawn seats are
inexpensive and they provide a great opportunity to watch artists at work.
- Vocal books - Broadway, Classical, or Pop! Books
with a CD of accompaniment tracks are especially useful for practice time.
- Video recordings of classic musicals
like "Oklahoma", "Singing in the Rain", or "Guys and Dolls."
