Monday
June 29th through Friday July 3rd . . . 9am - 1pm every morning! We will be meeting in "The Leesburg Presbyterian Church"
in four of their big rooms for this event. The church is located right in the middle of downtown Leesburg on Market Street,
west of the courthouse and Talley Ho Theater. Directly across the street from the Thomas
Balch Library.
Come join us in
Leesburg for 4 hours each day of fun and intensive study of your instrument and songs in the rock genre. We will have
instruction in voice, guitar (acoustic and electric) keyboards, bass and drums. We are going to study song form and
songwriting and teach you how to put the band parts together to form an awesome group! We are using Christian
rock and current pop rock tunes as our format. We hope to keep it small, informative, fun and impacting with 10 - 20
participants.
There are few
requirements . . .You will need to be in 6th grade or older to participate, and you must want to have fun and be
ready and able to “jam” on your own instrument already, which means you should be able to read some chords and
learn riffs and licks quickly. Please invite friends. And you DO NOT
have to be a part of Wayne’s World, or Nathaniel’s
studio or the Leesburg Presbyterian Church to participate; we will gear the activities and groups with you and your abilities.
THE DAILY SCHEDULE:
9am - 9:30am We will have a meeting and
listening party for the tunes we will investigate each day.
9:30am - 10:30am We will be in group lessons
on “other” instruments. (not your main instrument). We will have fun each morning studying a little voice,
piano, guitar and drums each day! We’ll also do some songwriting in this period one day and discuss performance
techniques to look cool onstage and a few instructions on operating a sound system to make you sound good.
10:30am - 11:30am We will be group lessons
on your main instrument.
11:30am - 12:30pm We will put the groups together
in the "big room" to start performing the tunes.
12:30pm - 1pm We will conclude everyday with
lunch (which is included) and listen to more tunes. And get to know each other better.
Every afternoon,
after our sessions/classes, materials will be emailed out to you and posted up on "YouTube" for you to practice with at home.
We will have
a final concert on Friday July 3rd at 11:30am, and each group will be recorded and posted to "YouTube" that afternoon for all
friends and relatives to watch.
The cost . . . all instructional materials included for all 5 days, 4 hours of instruction every day, plus lunch
and drinks included each day.
$350 for the entire week.
When you arrive for the camp you will check in and fill out an entrance form and give us
a check made to "Wayne's World Music LCC" and begin the FUN!
We will give you a notebook of materials for you to use and keep.
What to bring everday . . . a good positive attitude AND drummers bring sticks(we'll
have a real kit) guitarists need a guitar and amp (though we will have a few to use also please bring your stuff), bass
players need their bass and an amp, singers and keyboardists are lucky and will just come with nothing, unless you want
to drag in your keyboards!
