As I'm sure you can already sense in the air,
the holiday season is fast approaching. This year we will be sponsoring an Angel Tree for the Salvation Army, as we
have done with much success and generosity in past years. For those of you who may not be familiar with these Angel
Trees, this is an opportunity for children whose parents cannot afford to give them presents to request gifts with a tag on
the tree. It is also a great opportunity for the givers!--an opportunity to teach our young ones about sharing with
the less fortunate.
This year, there are more needy families than
ever! At the Salvation Army headquarters here in town, they were overjoyed to hear that we will be helping them out
again this year, as we have been a strong supporting force in the past couple of years. We discussed our hopes that,
with more Wayne's World students than ever before, that we'll be able to help even more families this year!
We hope
that you and your family will be willing to reach into your own pockets this holiday season to help the more needy members
of our own community. You never know whose child you are passing the holiday spirit to--it could be the cute little
kid that lives just next door!
At Wayne's World, a tree will go up in each
unit this year (Units 4, 5, and 6), so no matter which teacher you study with, you will be sure to see the tree on your way
in and out each week. Tags will be available starting Monday, 11/16, in case you want to do your shopping early!!!
We ask that, when you take a tag, you sign it out on the sign-out beside the tree. We don't want any child to be forgotten,
just because of lost or misplaced tags, so we'll keep a log of everything here.
