Chief DeSantis was stabbed to death by a suspect who had just robbed a gas station and stabbed the attendant. Chief DeSantis
was at home when he heard the call from a neighboring agency. The suspect was known to him so he began to search for him.
He located the man and pulled him over. During the stop the man stabbed him with a screwdriver or metal file before fleeing.
The man was later apprehended and sentenced to life. |

Officer Cullinane died when he attempted to rescue an unconscious worker from a construction pit at 26th Street and Landis
Avenue and was overcome by lethal gasses.
Ironically, just the day before, Officer Cullinane was an integral part of
the rescue efforts that saved another construction worker's life at the very same job site.
Officer Cullinane was a
Reserve member of the New Jersey Air National Guard 177th Fighter Interceptor Unit where he served as a Staff Sergeant (E6)
on the Security Police unit. He had served with he Sea Isle City Police Department for 11 years and was survived by his wife,
son, mother, five sisters, and three brothers. |

pulled over at 4:00 am.
Officer Miglio had served with the agency for 14 years. He was survived by his wife, daughter,

Officer David Douglass was shot and killed while responding to a report of a suspicious man.
As Officer Douglass
approached the man, the man began to run. He then suddenly turned and shot the officer.
Officer Douglass had been employed with the Lower Township Police Department for 18 years, and is survived by his wife,
son, daughter, and step-daughter. |

JENNER, RALPH J., 85 - of North Wildwood, passed
away Saturday. Born in Phila. Pa. he has been a life long resident of the Wildwoods. He was a Army veteran of WWII having
participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Ralph was retired from the North Wildwood Police Dept. and also as the Range
Master at the Cape May County Police Training Academy. He was a member of the KofC council #2572 and the fourth degree KofC.
And was a lifetime member of St. Ann's Church in Wildwood. He is survived by: five children: Lyn F. Nichols (Clarence), Torchy
A. Bower (Tex), Sharon L. Moore, Michael J. Jenner (Debbie H. Frank), John F. Jenner (Kelly Mackey); 12 Grandchildren and
17 Great Grandchildren. Mr. Jenner was predeceased by his wife Madeline, his son Ralph Jr. and his granddaughter Lena E. Bower.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood, where friends
may call from 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lower Township. Donations in his memory to St. Ann's Church
would be appreciated. Arrangements by Ingersoll-Greenwood Funeral Home.
