The left side of the page is one frame, the right side another. This lets us define a different colors for the background and the links, for example: Symphony Pro Musica

The right side uses white links. The background color effect can be done with tables, so that's not much of an advantage. The link color difference is a neat feature. Of course, you can always create a graphic link which happens to look like text, in any color you want.
