HTML tests

Most of the titles for my test pages come from Kevin Werbach's Bare Bones Guide to HTML, the best concise reference I've seen. (See http://werbach.com/barebones/, or look here for a local copy.) For the 'text and background color', above, I wrote a script to write 216 pages, using each of the 216 Netscape colors as a background. Each of those pages has a table containing all 216 Netscape colors as text, so all combinations of text and background color are there.

JavaScript adventures

"Javascript for the World Wide Web", by Ted Gesing and Jeremy Schneider, from Peachpit Press, is a good intro to JavaScript. It has cookbook examples, presented with lively text. I also have Danny Goodman's "JavaScript Bible", from IDG Books, as a reference.
