and to consult with industry partners on challenging scientific and technical problems.
Primary applications of our instruments
involve measuring electrical, optical, spectroscopic, thermal, viscosity and ultrasonics properties of chemical mixtures and
plastics at various stages of the manufacturing process. We have experience monitoring
plastics compounding using twin screw extrusion machines, resin temperature during injection molding of plastics,
solidification and shrinkjage during injection molding, tempertaure in polymer extrusion machines, and exfoliation
of clays during nanocomposites compounding. Both in-line and off-line instruments have been developed for these
applications.
