Who
We Are And What We Do:
Philanthropy By Design of Virginia,
Inc., (PBD/VA) a Virginia non-profit corporation, is a volunteer organization of construction industry professionals and students
which provide labor, materials, and design assistance to accomplish the renovation and construction of non-profit community
service facilities. The organization was founded in conjunction with PBD of California, whose mission is
the establishment of a national network of design industry resources and recyclable products for the purpose of creating model
interior environments for public service needs. Having begun as a sub-committee of the Central Virginia
Chapter, American Society of Interior Designers, in 1991, PBD has evolved into a wholly independent, tax-exempt, chartered
organization, involving individuals from all aspects of the design and construction industries.
