These are some games that I recommend to people ages 10+. These sites may/may not be appropriate for someone younger than 11 (or just might not interest them), but are appropriate for 12+ for sure...

http://chessclub.com <- - The Internet Chess Club. Lots of fun, (chess, chat, ETC) but some people on ICC are not the friendliest.... I dont recommend for anyone younger than 12. But for 12+, it is GREAT! $30 to register if below the age of 22... $60 if older.
