Sandbat

The Sandbat is a distant relative to Tallon IVs Flickerbat. The Sandbat has long thin wings that it uses to pull off impressive acrobatic movements. Sandbats have a long and narrow proboscis, which it uses to drain the nectar from the plants growing in Agon Wastes. The Sandbat travels in large packs to prevent a particular Sandbat from being singled out in an attack. Sandbats have a rough coating, which it uses to protect itself against the harsh whipping sands of a high altitude area.

The Sandbat uses its long proboscis to drink nectar from a nearby plant in Agon Wastes. If it’s a dry season and plants are unavailable the Sandbat will turn carnivorous. They will be bold enough to attack a Sandigger as a pack but it usually results in deaths of multiple Sandbats. If they can make a meal from this they will go into resting for a long time. They rest or hibernate by attaching to a wall in a dark area and sleeping. Sandbats reproduce through Sexual Reproduction. They lay eggs in a dark and hollow area where they have plenty of room to hatch.

The Sandbat colonies are huge. They can range anywhere from 10 to 1,000 members. If there is a large dark space available the Sandbats will form a massive colony and hope to not be disturbed. Usually a large colony can ward off any size predator including an Alpha Sandigger. Even though the Sandbats skin protects it from violent sandstorms it is still not very strong and can be easily broken apart by a large predator or strong weapon.
