Church School
The 2004-2005 Sunday School year begins on September 12 with
a Kick-off. Regular classes begin
on September 19.
This year’s we will follow the “Seasons of the
Spirit” Curriculum, for children, youth and adult lectionary lessons.
For children and youth, classes are grouped by age and
meet at 9:30 AM on
Sundays.
Grades
PreK-6 meet in the chapel for opening prayer, followed by music time before
proceeding to their individual classrooms.
- Ages 2 and Kindergarten meet
weekly in the Lower Main classroom #2 (below
Fellowship Hall, through double doors), led this year by Karen Martin and
Sue Mora.
- Grades 1 to 3 meet weekly in the Lower
Main classroom #1 (below the Fellowship Hall), led this year
by Jacki Reiff and
Tracey Smith.
- Grades 4 to 6 meet weekly in the Lower Royer
classroom, led this year by Donna Boston and Melissa Odell.
- Grades 7 & 8 meet weekly in the
Upper Royer classroom, following the “Seasons of the Spirit
Curriculum” as a resource to plan and execute outreach service
projects, led this year by LaRue Lennon and
Debbie Finch.
- Youth Issues (Grades 9-12) meet
monthly to share a meal and view a secular film addressing a social issue,
followed by discussion led by Melissa Melum and
Mark Schlichter.

brothers and sisters? Films: The Mask, Rain Main and Play it Forward

Response
to Injustice Films: Ghandi, The Color Purple, and To Kill a Mockingbird
Classes do not meet in the summer. Vacation bible
school is offered each year in June.
Two adult education classes are offered, and meet at 9:30 AM on Sundays
- Lectionary class – This
group studies and discusses the Bible verses that serve as the basis for
each week’s sermon, following the Seasons of the Spirit
Curriculum. The group is led
by Lloyd Helt, Beverly Brown and Ben Rogers
- Issues class – This class
studies contemporary topics and debates how to live a life of faith in
modern times.
