Tara Yaney, flute
Tara
Yaney is the principal piccolo player of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra. She
has also performed with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, the Altoona Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, the
International Chamber Ensemble in Rome, Italy, the Ohio Light Opera Orchestra, and numerous pit orchestras in the Philadelphia,
Washington, DC, Baltimore and Pittsburgh areas. She studied at the Peabody Conservatory
of Music with Robert Willoughby, and also with Alberto Almarza and Rhian Kenny. She
teaches the flute and clarinet at the Pittsburgh Music Academy, Musik Innovations School of Music, and the Winchester Thurston
School.
Erin Lutz, oboe
Erin
has held the position of principal English Horn with the Johnstown Symphony since the 1997-98 season. She holds a bachelor
‘s degree in oboe performance from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied with Scott Bell. She also received her
certification in music education in 2000. She has also performed in masterclasses with Harold Smoliar, John DeLancie, and
Marilyn Zupnik. Ms. Lutz is currently a teacher of elementary vocal music in
the Plum Borough School District. She has performed on oboe and English horn with many ensembles in the Pittsburgh are, including
the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra, Butler Symphony, Altoona Symphony, and Pittsburgh Savoyards.
Jose Gomez, clarinet
Jennifer Kunkle-Clark, french horn
Jennifer
Kunkle-Clark received her musical training from Temple University and the University of Cincinnati, where her primary teachers
were Randy Gardner, Adam Unsworth and Duane Dugger. She was the winner of the low horn audition at the 2001 Raphael
Mendez Brass Institute. In 2002 Jennifer was the winner of the concerto competition a the Opera Theater and Music Festival
of Lucca in Lucca, Italy. Prior to moving to the Pittsburgh area she was the orchestra director at An Achievable Dream
Academy in Newport News, VA, a magnet school that works to improve the lives of underprivileged and at risk youth. Jennifer
is currently professor of horn at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. She resides in Monroeville with her husband,
Andrew Clark, a hornist and conductor.
Elise Wagner, bassoon
Elise Wagner is the principal bassoon of the Wheeling Symphony and
has performed with the Houston Grand Opera, Key West Symphony Orchestra and the Youngstown Symphony. Elise is currently pursuing
her Masters degree in Music Performance at Carnegie Mellon University where she studies with Nancy Goeres, principal of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She received
her Bachelors degree from Temple University where she studied with the principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Daniel Matsukawa. In the summer of 2006, Elise was a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center. She has also attended the Aspen Music Festival and has performed in Spain and Japan. Born in Monroe, Wisconsin,
Elise has always enjoyed playing chamber music and teaching.
