Appalachian Rail Excursions LLC is
a Pennsylvania based Limited Liability Corporation formed to host and facilitate the hosting of rail excursions by and for
Narcoa members only whom carry current Narcoa insurance and operations certificates. We are bound by all Narcoa rules and
regulations as well as all FRA and Railroad rules imposed upon us.
A.R.E. Requires that at all times while on Railroad property that all participants
must wear over the ankle hard soled shoes. (Such as work boots)This includes loading and unloading as well. From time to time
we may require additional safety equipment and or clothing as needed. This will be announced in advance and will be required
for participation. You as operators must understand that a railroad is a working environment and as such can be dangerous.
Cancellation policy:
If you must cancel on a reservation, contact the trip coordinator ASAP!. Cancellations will be accepted
up to ten days prior to the trip. No refunds due to weather or NO-Shows! Runs go no matter what the weather.All refunds
are subject to a handling fee of $15.00.
We do not transfer registrations to other runs.If you must cancell, you will have to register for the other
run you are interested in.
Requests for last minute cancellations for medical reasons must be accompanied by a legitamate documentation.
Hospital reciepts Etc.
If there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled from the list, you then will recieve a full refund
after the completion of the run. A.R.E. reserves the right to cancel a run if we feel that the registration numbers fall
short and will cause a financial downfall. If this occures, you will be notified and all registration
fees will be refunded.
Pets NO PETS ALLOWED. Please do not ask to bring pets. Make other arrangements.
MENTORING
Mentoring will only be done on designated runs and only by appointment with the proper coordinator. All
Narcoa rules and requirements for mentoring will be strickly adheared to.
Photo Copywrites:
All Photos used on this sight were either taken by the webmaster or used with express permission of the
respective photographer. Any photo submitted for use herein comes with implied and understood permission for use by this websight.
Downloading and further use of these photos by others is not the responsibility of the webmaster nor at his control.
Submissions for use on the site should be in JPG or JPEG format and emailed or sent on CD to the webmaster.
If emailed the photo should be sent as an attached file.
Home Built or Heavily Modified Cars
These cars are conditionally allowed subject to all Narcoa specifications, and inspection by, and are subject
to, the final approval of the event coordinator and the host railroad. You must schedule an inspection
ahead of time if considering bringing such a car to an event. The decision of our inspector is final and not negotiable.
Excursion Fees:
Most often the railroad dictates to us what they require in the way of fees. We then add just enough to
cover the ever rising costs of postage of materials, advertising the run,Narcoa insurance, porta-johns, and related equipment
required to run an excursion. There is nothing tacked on for our own gain. We keep the cost as low as is possible.
