West Virginia Central RR October 11 &12, 2008
Come ride the most scenic railroad south of the Canadian border. Travel West Virginia's ex
CSX, B&O, and Western Maryland Railroads through mountains and along streams on a railroad flanked by some of the best
scenery in the east. On Saturday we will depart from Elkins WV from the former WMD depot and travel south to Spruce.
At Spruce we will switch to Cass Scenic RR's Spruce connector. We will go the 1.5 miles to Old Spruce and meet the Bald Knob
train . Then returning to Elkins for aprox. 120 miles this day. The cars remain on the track at the depot over night from
where we will depart the next morning for Tygart Junction. Sunday's ride is about 60 miles round trip.
This is a NON-MENTORING trip and is for EXPERIENCED OPERATORS ONLY. NO HY-RAILS PERMITTED.
All NARCOA rules Apply. Over the ankle hard soled shoes must be worn at all times while you are on n RR property. 40 car limit.
Box lunches will be available for Saturday for an extra fee. Fee for the trip is $135.00.
