Tips

Hangers
To make your hangers fancy try winding some inbroidery floss around them.
For children you could use the newer striped paper clips.

Perfume Bottles:
The inside of a light bulb makes a cute perfume bottle with a few sequins, and beads.  Be very careful removing it.  It is a good idea to wear gloves.

Bed Warmer:
Glue a 3" piece of 1/8"  dowel to a locket.  At the other end of the dowel, glue tow tiny gold colored rivets.

Hearth Broom:
Take a tiny brush used for cleaning electric razors, or for cleaning a sewing machine, and paint the handle black.

Soup Ladle:
Soup Ladle was made from and old stick pin with a shell design at the end.

Wrought-WIron Cooking Kettle:
For this you will need one half of a plastic gum ball container. For the legs, cut three 1/4" pieces from1/8"sq balsa strip and glue to bottom of plastic container so it stands straight. Cut handle from thin wire and glue to container.  Paint inside and outside of entire kettle black.

Brass Fireplace Fan:
The fan is a small plastic party-favor fan with its decorative silk tassel removed.  Spray paint with brass paint and glue into fireplace opening.

Room Boxes
If you don't want to build or buy a dollhouse. Here are some ideas for containers for room boxes.
Old fashion milk crates, wooden cheese boxes, fish tanks, printers trays, deep bureau drawers.
An empty bookcase or a corner cupboard. A wall haning cabinet with a little creativity all of these could be transformed into a miniature setting.
