Wrought-Iron Chandelier

To make the chandelier, you will  need:

one large frozen orange juice can
8 round wooden toothpicks.
eight tiny rivet halves,
a piece of jewelry chain, and a small hook.

The section you want is the bottom ring of the can. Open bottom of can using a can opener. That will leave you with cardboard sides of container with  metal ring. Cut off cardboard part using an exacto.  "Carefully"    It will be necessary to pry open gently the ring to remove the rest of the cardboard. You can carefully close it back up after removing cardboard.

Divide inside of metal edge into eights. With toothpicks cut in half; glue toothpicks to metal edge and together at center with dots of glue.

At the points of division, glue to top of metal edge, the electrical sockets.

Insert toothpicks into sockets, to resemble candles

Attach jewelry chain to center of chandeloier with piece of thin wire, twist wire to secure it, and trim ends of wire very close.

Paint chandelier with flat black paint, and paint candles in desired color. Wire hook to top of chain and screw hook into ceiling.

If chandelier does not hang straight, glue a few small lead beebees to it at strategic points until it hangs properly.

For candles:  I used the plastic covering (removed) from a wire coat hanger. You could also use plastic covering  from discarded wire. Thread some sting or embroidery floss for the wick. I like to blacken the tip of sting with a black marker. To appear it has once been lite.
