Damage from Wawayanda, Oct '07

This model was completed in Oct '07, just in time to participate in the WWII mass launch event at Wawayanda, NY that month.

The Dave Diels kit, is a test build for laser cut parts. I was pleased to find that all the parts went together beautifully.

Unlke most of my models, I used tissue instead of gel ink for most of the markings, except for panel lines. The yellow rudder markings and wing leading edge bands, along with the red circle markings are two layers of tissue, applied with gluestick.

With the help of Michael Heinrich at Wawayanda, the trimming  process was showing great promise, until the plane veered off course during a glide and attacked Tom Hallman's  table leg. The damage can be seen in the photos. I believe this should be an easy repair.
