I built this kit in June/July '07 as something I thought I could
do pretty quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it came together.
One of the 'issues' I debated was how to anchor the wings to the
fuselage. In the end, I decided to do a simple 'butt' joint. Colors are done in a Midway scheme, with standard blue and white
Esaki tissue. All the markings are hand drawn with gel ink pens on to the tissue before covering.
First flights were very promising, with 25-35 secs before it was
time to change from a single loop of 3/16. Unfortunately, a rough landing caused the RH wing panel to tear off at the root
rib and the plane is awaiting repairs. I don't think the damage is too substantial.
