This is a really cool looking plane. It was developed in the 30's as a ground attack weapon, before the designers completely understood what the role involved. This plane is eligible for FAC 'dime scale' events.

This model, built in May '06 was very easy to build and went together like a charm. Lacking any color documentation, I chose to represent a typical 'winter white' scheme, much to the chagrin of the plans author, my good friend, Michael Heinrich. Apparently there were so few of these planes built, they never would have made it past the bare metal or olive drab color phase. The 'winter white' scheme however, is much easier to produce. The tissue is white Esaki on the upper surfaces, and Easy-Built "Lite" tissue on the undersides.

The trimming process for this plane proceeded very well at the '06 FAC NATS in Geneseo, and initial flights were real promising. The plane was 'retired' to the trash when after the fuselage completely collapsed while being wound on the stooge. I think this would be a wonderful flyer enlarged to 20" - 24" span.
