This scratch-built plane was finished in Sept -07 from plans by Keith Sterner. The color scheme is purely fictitious, but hopefully in the 'spirit' of the planes from the era.
 
All the wing struts and LG struts are attached to the frame with monofilament 'pins' that insert into pre-drilled holes in the balsa. Especially for the landing gear, I think this offers a great amount of flex in the assembly for those 'hard' landings. The markings are hand drawn, and the rigging is elastic thread. The prop is a peck silver, painted to look like wood grain. The spinner is plastic, and stolen from another Albatros model.
 
This plane flew in the WWI ML event this past October in Wawayanda, making it into the second round where a hard landing ripped the landing gear and upper wing off the fuselage. It has been retired to the dumpster.
