Boeing F4B-2; Dave Diels kit

The noseblock / cowl is a solid piece of turned balsa provided in the kit

If you squint hard enough, white tissue looks almost like silver!

Red squadron band is tissue, all other markings are black gel pen

Cockpit coaming is black sheet foam sliced off into a thin strip, then applied with flexible glue

This model was completed back in Oct '04, and was one of my first attempts at doing a complete model with all hand drawn markings.

The model still sits on my shelf, waiting for minor repairs. I flew it at Wawayanda in Oct '05, and the upper winng snapped off upon hitting the ground.
