12.21.08:
Helldiver completed. The assembly was much easier  than expected. The waterslide decals really punch the color scheme. The rigging adds a level of detail, easily done with elastic thread colored with magic marker.

12.14.08:
Back on this plane after a short break for the GH-2. I've completed the covering, and the fuselage bands and cowl tissue have been added.

11.14.08:
Wings and tail feathers are covered. The fuselage has been started. There will be a black band at the rear cockpit and engine cowl.

11.10.08:
Lower wing is covered and installed. Underside of fuselage framing is complete. Most of the sanding is finished and covering is next on the punch list.

10.30.08:
Wings built, framework complete

10.29.08:
This is theDave Diels kit of the Curtiss SBC-4 Helldiver. At 1/24 scale, the span is 17". I'll be showing fewer construction pictures for this plane because the techniques I'll be using are the same as for other models I've shown.

The fuselage is complete except for the bottom striger which goes in place after the lower wing is attached to the saddle, and the tail feathers have 1/16" sq cap strips attached.
