Directions to Ida Lee Park

Downtown Leesburg Show

Everyone attending the show should follow the below instructions. Please plan to arrive in the staging area no earlier than 3:30 PM.

In our club’s attempt to avoid the nightmare of previous years in getting cars into the downtown area and getting them parked at the beginning of the show, we are asking that ALL participants follow the below directions:

1.     ALL cars must go to Smartt's Mill Middle School, 800 North King Street, (business route 15) for check-in and to pick up your parking identification.

2.     If you are planning to attend as a group, you need to check in as a group, and you will be released from Smartt's Mill as a group. We will not allow saving parking spots in the downtown area.

3.     There will be NO parking preferences as you enter into the downtown area. You will be directed in which area to park by club members.

4.     Cars will be released in small groups from Smartt's Mill and you will come south on King Street into the courthouse area where you will be directed to park in designated spots throughout the downtown area.

5.     To avoid being caught up in the re-directing of traffic flow into the downtown area due to street closures, please follow the below directions for going to Smartt's Mill Middle School.

South from MD or Point of Rocks Bridge

1. Stay on Business 15 South (stay to the right) as you approach the Y-intersection just north of Leesburg. Do not go left nor stay on the bypass around Leesburg. Smartt's Mill Middle School is on your left at the first traffic light approximately 1/4 mile after the Y-intersection.

Coming west on Route 7 from Sterling / Dulles area

1. When you get to the Route 15 Bypass (Leesburg Corners Outlet Mall) take it towards Frederick, MD. Do not go towards Winchester, VA .

Warning: Do not stay straight on Route 7 into downtown Leesburg or you will be caught up in a traffic jam and you will have difficulties getting around the town to get to Smartt's Mill Middle School.

2. Stay on Route 15 Bypass for approximately 1.5 miles and make a left turn at the traffic light on Battlefield Parkway (Exeter Subdivision sign).

3. Stay on Battlefield Parkway until it dead ends at Business Route 15. Turn right at the light, and Smartt's Mill Middle School is about 1/2 mile on your right.

Coming North on Route 15 from Manassas / Gainesville areas

1.     As you approach the town of Leesburg, take the Route 15 North Bypass towards Frederick, MD. Warning: Do not continue straight on Route 15 into downtown Leesburg or you will be caught in a traffic jam and you will have difficulties getting around the town to get to Smartt's Mill Middle School.

2.     Stay on Route 15 North bypass towards Frederick until you get to Battlefield Parkway. (approximately 4 traffic lights and less than two miles)

3.     Turn left on Battlefield Parkway until it dead ends at Business Route 15.

4. Turn right at the light, and Smartt's Mill Middle School is about 1/2 mile on your right.

Coming east on Route 7 from Berryville / Winchester, VA areas

1.     Stay on Route 7 / Route 15 Bypass towards Frederick, MD. Warning: If you stay on Business Route 7 into downtown Leesburg, you will have difficulties getting around the downtown area to get to Smartt's Mill Middle School.

2.     Stay on Route 15 North bypass towards Frederick until you get to Battlefield Parkway. (approximately 4 traffic lights and less than two miles)

3.   Turn left on Battlefield Parkway until it dead ends at Business Route 15. Turn right at the light, and Smartt's Mill Middle School is about 1/2 mile on your right.

Cars will be released from Smartt's Mill Middle School in small groups at approximately 4:45 PM after the downtown streets are closed for the event. If you arrive early, you will remain in the parking lot at Smartt's Mill Middle School until released for entry into the downtown area.

Note: Francis Hazel Reid Elementary School and Smartt's Mill Middle School have large parking areas which can acommodate approximately 200 vehicles.

Leesburg Police will be allowing about 10 -15 cars at a time to enter into the downtown area. You will have a pass to show the police that you are a participant. Without this identification you will not be allowed into the downtown area.

All cars MUST enter the show area from the north side of town and the staging area on Business Route 15. (Smartt's Mill Middle School, 800 North King Street)
