I Do Believe In Magic

I do believe in magic. I
was born and raised in a magic time, in a magic town, among magicians....
the word was my magic lantern, and by its green spirit glow I
was the past, the present, and the future. We all start out knowing
magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets
inside us. We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds
and see our destiny in grains of sand. But then we get the magic
educated right of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked
out, washed out, and combed out. We get put in the straight and
narrow and told to be responsible. Told to act our age. Told
to grow up, for God's sake. And you know why we're told that?
Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wilderness
and youth. And because the magic we knew made them ashamed and
sad at what they allowed to wither in themselves. After you get
so far away from it, though, you can't really get it back. You
can have seconds of it. Just seconds of knowing and remembering.
When people get all weepy at movies, it's because in that dark
theatre, the golden pool of magic is touched, just briefly. Then
they come out into the hard sun of logic and reason again and
it dries up, and they're left feeling a little heartsad and not
knowing why. For the briefest of instants, you have stepped into
the magic realm. The truth of life is that every year we get
farther away from the essence that is born within us. We get
shouldered with burdens, some of them good, some of them not
so good. Things happen to us. Loved ones die. People get in wrecks,
and get crippled. It's not hard to do, in this world of crazy
mazes. Life itself does its best to take that memory of magic
away from us. You don't know it's happening until one day you
feel like you've lost something, but you're not sure what it
is.
Oneness

putting my arms and legs
into a comfortable position.
I relax the muscles around my eyes,
mouth, and jaw.
and feel myself becoming
centered and calm.
As I grow calm within,
I begin to sense the world around me.
out into the room or space I am in.
I sense the people around me.
I sense the animals in my area,
and become aware of all the plants.
I am expanding my consciousness.
within each life form I contact.
I imagine sparkling, divine light
radiating from all the life about me.
As I do this,
I connect with the divinity within myself.
I see/sense/feel the sparkling seeds of
divinity within me.
send out lines of light
that connect with the seeds of divinity
in all life forms around me.
I can sense this inner connection
as divine love and light flows
into and out of me,
connecting me to the goodness, love,
and higher energies all about me.
The seeds of my divinity are awakening.
and imagine love flowing out from me
to their hearts.
I receive the love that flows back to me
from their hearts.
I picture my friends and co-workers.
I send them love, light, and good wishes.
I receive back the love and light they send me.
I send them blessings and wishes
for a wonderful life.
I sense my community and city
I connect with everyone in my country
Each time I connect with others
I sense people lighting up with this contact.
My light increases the light all about me.
I focus on what I have
in common with humanity.
I find unity in diversity.
I focus on what I have in common
with others
and accept the differences.
The seeds of divinity within me are
becoming brighter.
in the animal kingdom,
in the plant kingdom,
and in the mineral kingdom.
Divine light and love
connect me with all life on earth.
My own divinity is enhanced
as I now connect with the divine light in all life.
The seeds of divinity within me
are sending out beautiful notes and colors.
I am one with all souls.
I am radiating love and light to all souls.
The seeds of divinity with me
are growing radiant with soul love and light.
Angels, and Enlightened Ones.
I send light and love to them,
feeling my connection to them.
I receive their transmission
of divine love and light back.
The seeds of divinity within me are opening.
I am aware of the web of life of which I am a part.
I feel light and love flowing out from me
and light and love coming back to me.
The seeds of divinity within me are flowering
and pollinating the seeds of divinity
within all life.
