KINDLY TAKE A MINUTE TO READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE CAREFULLY PRIOR TO SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION.
Please bear in mind, that we take several applications on each of our adoptables, and the best match possible is made in
both the interest of the animal and the adopter. There is no such thing as "first come, first serve" when it comes to our
adoption process. It is deliberate and careful, as the animal you adopt is your responsibility for the duration of his or
her lifetime.
We are an all volunteer rescue, meaning that each of us have jobs, families, children, our own pets and the same day to
day responsibilities that all people have . Our days begin much earlier than most and end long after most are asleep!
We do this freely and with love and devotion to our mission on behalf of the animals we serve. We will ONLY
RESPOND TO APPLICATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED. ALL APPROVED APPLICANTS ARE CONTACTED WITHIN 3-5 DAYS.
This policy has been enacted due to sheer number of applications received and unfortunately because efforts to explain why
some applications have been rejected have, most times, been met with hostility, despicable language and threats. Our
primary focus is our animals and finding them exemplary, permanent homes. We certainly appreciate disappointment, but
cannot ask any of our volunteers to be subject to harrassment and verbal abuse. We hope you will understand and
respect our position.
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION:
- YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
- HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE & CONSENT OF LANDLORD
- BE WILLING TO MAKE A LIFELONG COMMITTMENT TO THE ANIMAL YOU ADOPT
- SIGN AN ADOPTION CONTRACT
- SHOW VALID PICTURE ID AT THE TIME OF ADOPTION

The animals available for adoption come from a variety of sources. All of our animals are examined and
treated by licensed veterinarians and their health is continuously monitored while in foster care. We are thoroughly
committed to the PERMANENT placement of the animals in our care, therefore, it is important that you consider adoption seriously,
with full knowledge and awareness that bringing a pet into your life and home is a lifelong committment and responsibilty.
Our Adoption Fee includes complete medical exams, age appropriate vaccinations, age-appropriate sterilization,
Feline Leukemia/FIV testing in all felines, heartworm testing and preventative treatment in canines, worming, preventative
flea treatment and any other medically appropriate treament(s) prescribed by our veterinarians. Pennsylvania State law
requires us, as a non-profit, incorporated animal rescue doing business in the Commonwealth, to use a Sterilization Agreement
if the animal you adopt from us is too young to be safely sterilized.
We hope you understand that it is in the best interest of the animals that our screening process is extremely
thorough. We thank you for considering our organization for adoption and we will do our very best to assist you in finding
an animal that is most compatible with your lifestyle.
