A lemon Basset Hound dog, inspired by a Basset & her 6 pups. The mother was dropped off at a shelter by her former owners, pregnant, not an uncommon occurance. Many owners who don't have pets fixed are unprepared for an unexpected pregnancy, and bring either the pregnant pet or the whole litter into a shelter. While some shelters do put down dogs simply because they are pregnant, or below adoption age, and space is always limited, the inspiration for this sculpture was taken in by the below rescue group which has a large number of puppies available for adoption due to this problem.
