Introduction to Reflexology
The origin of reflexology is speculative.
Through a hieroglyphic found in the tomb of ankemanhor in Egypt, dated to 2500 BC depicting practicioners.
Working on the feet of people, it appears that reflexology was practiced.
The eastern root of reflexology came from India and Japan its Western root came from Egypt to Europe
via the Romans. In 1300 AD, Marco Polo, and later the Dominican and Franciscan missionaries working in China spread their
knowledge of reflexology to Europe. The indigenous cultures of North America have a strong tradition of foot work, It is not
known where or how knowledge became known.
In 1915, Dr. William Fitzgerald, and american physician working in Vienna is known as the father
of ["modern Reflexology"].
He "Rediscovered" the theory of body zones, the concepts of wich are utilized in the practice of
reflexology today.
