Do you like to walk in the woods in Spring? I do, and I often come upon places where I am sure there are fairies, so I
like to build a little "fairy house" for them to play in! Interested? Read on:
How to Build it:
Find a beautiful, mossy spot, with a bit of shade, and water nearby if possible.

Step 2: Keeping in mind any rules about the location, (for example, you cannot cut live plants in a state park), collect
four "Y"-shaped twigs; the bottom of the "Y" shoud be at least 10" long, and the "arms" of the "Y" about 8" long. Also collect
three straight twigs, about 12" long each, some bark off of a dead tree (a rotting birch stump is my favorite for this),
and some bits of moss off the ground. You can also bring these things from home if you don't want to have to hunt for them.
Step 3: Use the wire cutters or a pair of scissors to cut one of each of the arms of your "Y" twigs to about 1" long.
Then, push the "Y" twigs into the ground about 2" deep, with the long arms of the "Y" twigs crossing in pairs, like the frame
of a house with a peaked roof. The front and rear of your "house" should be about 12" apart.
Step 4: Now place the three long, straight twigs on the "house"; one one the peak, running front to bace, then the other
two on the short arms of the "Y" twigs, running the same way. The "frame" of the house is now ready to tie. Use the linen
thread to tie the places of joining to keep the twigs in place.
Step 5: Add pieces of bark for the roof, then add a floor of moss and leaves. Make twig furniture, or just put a flat
stone for a table. Add some food in acorn cups, and let the fairies party! (Fairies party hearty, so use your camera to take
a picture; otherwise you may find the party site wrecked on your next visit!) Have fun!
