Crown of Thorns

As He rode into the city

They praised His name.

They sang "hosanna in the highest!"

As He slowly came

Not too long later

It was a different story

They no longer praised Him

Or gave Him the glory.

He came before the crowd

"Crucify Him" they said.

So they nailed Him to a cross

And laid a crown of thorns on His head.

He hung there for hours

He did not complain

An innocent man

Now in so much pain.

Three days later

An angel appeared

He said, "Go to the city,"

"For He is not here."

He appeared to His men

With holes in His hands.

They had never been so happy

To see a sight so grand.

He ascended into heaven,

He now sits on a throne

When you go through hard times

Know you're not alone.

He is always with you,

Always within.

He is the Savior of the world,

Because He died for our sins.
