Fli Welcome: New Staff

A warm FLI welcome to:

Emmy Cho, Children’s Teacher at East Providence and Olneyville. Emmy holds an MFA from RISD and a teaching certificate from Brown University’s Sheridan Center. She was previously the Arts Program Coordinator for Kid’s World After School in Van Nuys, CA, and has taught drawing and painting courses at RISD. When she is not teaching at RIFLI, Emmy can probably be found in her painting studio in Pawtucket.

Chris Edwards, Assistant and Computer Teacher at East Providence. Chris is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy degree at Brown University specializing in educational policy. He is a graduate of Colgate University with a BA in History and English. Chris taught English as the Winchendon School in Massachusetts for two years.

Heather Gavek, Computer Teacher at Pawtucket. Heather holds a MAT degree in Elementary Education from Brown University as well as a RI elementary teaching certificate. She is a graduate of Providence College with a BA in Humanities. Heather currently works as a consultant with GTECH.

Myrian Melo, Assistant and Computer Teacher at South Providence. Myrian is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a degree in Spanish and Secondary Education. She also has a degree in Business Administration from Johnson and Wales and a TEFL certificate. She is an ESL teacher at Dean College in Franklin, MA and is bilingual. 

Sharie Paul, Assistant and Computer Teacher at Auburn and Arlington in Cranston. Sharie has a BA in Philosophy from Rhode Island College. She was the Technology Teacher at the St. Francis of Assisi school in Warwick, RI for two years. Sharie is a licensed real estate agent who also owns her own bookkeeping and payroll business.

RIFLI is fortunate to have such talented additions to our staff! Welcome all!
