my own & would like to hear from people in my age bracket (Christians) - there are none in my church family.

b-'36', m-'63', w-'5/31/2000'. 2 children, 4 grandchildren, one of whom I raised as my own, 3 great grandchildren. Husband, Jim, was in failing health for several years, last 2 years homebound about half the time, died of heart attack suddenly at home. I am a retired teacher. I like reading, crafts, children, Bible Study. Family is very important to me. Enjoy church, but haven't gone back to church related social activities yet, but I will. Although I'm lonely, I find comfort in the fact that we had 37 good years of marriage, a wonderful family, and I know that God is in control. He brings me great comfort and peace daily.

b-'37', m-'65', w-'98', 1 daughter '70', 2 sons '68' & '75', Regular Baptist, Caucasian, 5'4", N/S, N/D, like creative arts--painting, writing, decorating. I walk, bike, swim, enjoy antiques, the out-of-doors, gardening, church friends. Love to sing, used to do solos, duets with husband, choir for years. Like some Christian music, classical, some jazz, some big bands, read biographies, enjoy history, have researched my German roots, like to discuss Biblical teaching. I still work fulltime, so don't get to do a lot that I would like to do. Love to see my twin grandaughters '94' and their brother '98'. Bob died suddenly, having a heart attack while driving our car. He was diabetic and had lost his lower right leg. We, with others, began a support group for amputees that I still enjoy attending--a great bunch of people. I think Bob and I were most connected while sitting in a church service. Church is hard now, just to go and decide where to sit, but I know that is where I belong. Bob and I met at Christian college, married after I was graduated; he went to seminary while I taught school. Our goal was the foreign mission field, but instead he pastored small churches and attempted to encourage and support the many missionaries who came along. I still grieve, but am trying to learn who I am and that I can make it with God's help. God bless you all.

b-'47', m-'70', w-'3/02'. I am caucasian. My husband was so close to the Lord, he was believing for a healing from colon cancer. He received his healing on that day. For 2 years, I took care of him 24/7. It's been hard getting back to church and reading my Bible. Yes, someday I would hope not to be alone anymore. A simple friendship would be wonderful. I really enjoy people. I love to read and love music. I have 4 children: 2 boys and 2 girls, all married and 8 1/2 grandchildren. And of course their lives aren't lonely like mine.

b-'44', w-'00'. I lost my husband to lung cancer. I'm active in my church and love the Lord very much, but feel at times I really do not do as much for Him as I should. My husband's name was Bob, and when I first lost him I didn't think it was fair. Maybe everyone goes through those times when they just can't grasp the whole situation. I'm coping a lot better, but still very lonely.
