The Nightmare
HomeBeforeAfter

Many of you have heard about the "nightmare" but haven't seen it, or when you did, it was already rehabbed into something "semi-nice".  Well, take a look...  we have some of the before and after photos posted for your enjoyment!

We're very excited about our new house and eager to share all the details, so we've created this "virtual guided tour" until we can show off the new place to everyone in person.

The house is an "American Four-Post", which is noted in the deed as a colonial.  It was purchased as a 5 BR, 2 BA on about 1/4 acre with a pool and 2 car garage.  When we called to ask about it, we asked what was wrong with it, and all the agent could say was "EVERYTHING".  He was 100% correct!

Turns out we had a hidden staircase, 2.5 BA (rather than 2 - they LOST a toilet!), and had a bunch of little treasures, like one of the original french doors!  You just couldn't see anything amongst the mess from the former owners, let alone the ENTIRE house was paneled...  where paneling was not possible, contact paper that looks like paneling was used...  you are probably beginning to understand why it is called the nightmare...

Above is the front of the house...  notice the *lovely* white aluminum siding.  The ugliest house in the neighborhood, compared to stone, tudor, and cedar shakes!  Below is the back, with a grand view of the pool.  Take notice of the 'tongue' on the back of the house - you will see in future renovations that this disappears!
