This June we retreated to the Berkshires for a performance of Grupo
Corpo, the contemporary dance company bringing the movement, rhythms and colors of Brazil to the world.
Like Brazil, the unique choreography of Rodrigo Pederneiras represents a cultural
brew of African, Latin, and Portuguese influences that never fails to surprise and exhilarate.
Although the two
works featured this year at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival--Nazareth and 21--are Pederneiras' most acclaimed,
their countrapuntal rhythms coupled with movement sequences in absolutely stunning ways.
