Call for Members

To all who wish to participate in a progressive Rev War living history group, the detachment is always seeking out new members. Information is available on our "Join Us" page listed on the left.

Welcome:

This site serves as a convenient way to share information on our living history group. We are the Ensign Omohundro Detachment of Fluvanna Militia, a Rev War living history group. We portray Virginia militia members, either as Whig Patriots or Tory Loyalists as the need arises. Our focus is in educating the public on the socio-economic aspects which existed during the Revolutionary War. To that end we participate in Living History demonstrations of colonial crafts, either in first or third person as required.

Members include an architect, military historian, physisist and teachers, with period-correct skills as armorers, saddlers, postillions, tailors and carpenters.

Our mission is to go beyond documenting history; we strive to preserve the era's skills as well. To this end we practice and demonstrate period techniques.
