The M1924 Phillips Pack saddle was introduced in both a Cavalry and an Artillery version. The Phillips Cavalry Pack Saddle
was designed for horses, while the Phillips Artillery Pack Saddle was meant for mules.
I have restored a Phillips Cavalry Pack Saddle, scheduled to be used in demos of a MG Troop half section in November
2006.
