The Household Cavalry traditionally has unique patterns of saddlery.

One such H.C. saddle is tenatatively identified as the 1918 pattern, which uses the side bars and pommel arch of a 1902 UP with the cantle arch of an 1890 UP.

Additionally, there is a captive leather loop sewn around the cantle arch at the onside side bar, used to attach the sword to the saddle.
