       Using Information as a Technological Resource

·          Obtain information through interviews, computer databases, and media resource centers.

·          Create databases, text, and graphics using computer technology.

·          Convey three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface.

·          Use various technologies to prepare and present information regarding technological solutions.

·          Use course experiences to participate in TSA as a leader, manager, or team member.

Using Materials as a Technological Resource

·          Identify materials by the major family groups.

·          Trace materials used in common products to their source.

·          Discuss safety procedures and practices.

·          Use tools, machines, materials, and processes properly.

·          Select materials for specific applications according to their properties.

Using Energy as a Technological Resource

  • Identify the sources of energy used in technological devices.

·          Describe four major types of energy.

·          Control the use of energy with mechanical, electrical, fluidic, and thermal systems.

·          Conserve energy through design application.

Analyzing Consumer Products

·          Discuss consumer products and their impacts on people.

·          Select a consumer product to analyze.

·          Gather information about a product.

·          Use computer to record data and present information.

·          Analyze how and why a product works by determining math and science concepts.

·          Construct models or illustrations of changes needed.

·          Report results of product testing and design improvements in written and oral reports.

·          Construct a display to explain a product and math and science applications.

Building and Controlling a System with Computers and Electronics

·          Discuss technological systems and their impacts on people, society, and the environment.

·          Obtain information about a technological system and its uses.

·          Use computers to compile data and plan a technological system.

·          Control a system with computers or electronics.

·          Present information about the technological system and demonstrate how the controls work.

Designing a New or Improved Product

·          Identify the needs and wants or tech. problems of people in school, home, community, or world.

·          Create ideas, sketches, notes, and graphics of alternative solutions.
