RHSC RC Laser Fleet Racing Rules 

  • Eligibility: All persons owning a RC Laser and are a member of the Rock Hall Sailing Club are eligilbe for racing.
  • Registration fees: None apply.
  • The first 3 races each day will count towards the RHSC championship.  Additional races held each race day will be for practice and for fun.
  • 1 practice race will be held on race day followed by the 3 races counting towards the RHSC championship.  Only registered participants will race during these races. 
  • A minimum of 3 boats must particpate in order to be considered an official race day.
  • Scoring - Points will be awarded as follows: 1pt for first place, 2pts for second place, 3 points for 3rd place.
  • Each participants best eighteen (18) finishes in each series will count toward the RHSC RC Laser Fleet Racing championship.  Championship will be awarded for the lowest total of points.
  • A boat may be equipped with either of the three (3) available RC Laser sails - A, B or C and sails may be changed between races on each race day.
  • A boat hitting a mark must pass on the correct side of the mark, but there is no penalty for the contact.
  • A boat fouling another will sail clear of other boats prior to the next mark and perform a 360 degree turn to exonorate the infraction.
  • The number of boats registered will be equal to the number of boats sold.
  • A boat not starting (DNS) will be scored equal to the number of boats registered.
  • A boat not finishing (DNF) will be scored as one more than the number of boats starting.
  • Other racing rules will be in accordance with the instruction booklet that came with your boat.
  • Trophies will be awarded for each series and for the overall season.
