Tovli’s Web Designer
About Yosif Simiryan:
Yosif was born in Moldova in the former Soviet Union. He emigrated to the United States
as a refugee in the pursuit of religious freedom and the opportunity to worship as a Jew in 1992 with his
mother, Ester and father, Haim.
Yosif studied for a doctorate in mathematics in Novosibirsk and Kishinev. He has a Masters
degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science and an MBA in Soviet Economy.
Yosif has worked for Swanson Inmate Commissary, IBM, Kodak, Frontier, Fast and Global Crossings
as a Software/Implementation Engineer and Computer Programmer. He recently completed
a two year association with Step by Step—a non profit agency, developing a complex database for fundraising and
donation efforts as well as a LAN-network in rural West Virginia.
He provides consulting services to profit and non-profit agencies concerning IT updates, relational
databases, data recovery and web development.
Yosif is currently assisting in designing and developing an on-line magazine, Yefim—A Literary
Journal.
Yosif recently completed a
ten year project (hobby) on designing geodesic dome structures. After copyrighting
his formula he began to test the calculations by organizing the construction of a “Yossie Dome” at Big Ugly Community
Centre near Harts, WV. The project was completed through AmeriCorps, the NCCC
and a lot of organizing /reorganizing from local residents (special thanks to Henry!). He
has also constructed a “Yossie Dome” in our back yard for a combination (5766) Sukkah and green house.
Update: Yosif has a new project. He is considering
an opportunity with Horosho Dlia-Menia Publishing (HDMP) to manage web development and marketing
plans for English, Russian , Moldovan, and Romanian publishing ventures/markets. HDMP is also dedicated to the
publication of Spiritual Jewish Writings.
Update:
Yosif has added another commitment to his busy life: he will be assisting grassroot projects
and community ventures with the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia. He will be involved in with this non-profit
group for the next year.
