I travel on the Staten Island Ferry twice a day every weekday to work in Manhattan. Some people have told me, "wow,
what a bore." That ferry ride is great. It's like sitting in one big living room. You make friends, you
have nodding acquaintences with people you see all the time, and it's 25 minutes of peace before boarding the people-stuffed
subway.
