Collected various images of interest ...

The following four pictures are selected from the 50 State seals inlaid in black and white stone in the narthex floor of Washington D.C.'s National Cathedral.  New York is included here because of this website's focus on the state. The other three exemplify many that have in common agrarian motifs - though it remains a mystery why Oklahoma is the only one of all with a reversed color scheme (white on black).  I have been unable to find reproductions or discussion of the seals in books in the cathedral's shop or on the web to help answer that question.

Kneelers -  in St. John's chapel, WNC. Numbering well over 100 and embroidered by the cathedral's volunteer docents they depict noteable Americans. I was pleased to see Francis Parkman included for reasons given on Ex Libris page.
