As part of the Clarksburg 5k event activities, please join us on Friday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m. for a special presentation by Mr. Robert Price, Founder of Elite Minds, a sports psychology consulting firm in Bethesda, Maryland.  This session is free and open to the public.  Registration in the 5k is not required to attend this special event.
 
Mr. Price's presentation, "Are You Ready For The Mind Game?", will focus on understanding what a mentally strong athlete thinks about while performing.  Elite Minds works with athletes of all ages to better equip them with the tools to:
  • Improve decision making
  • Reduce anxiety
  • Increase focus
  • Recover quicker from disppointments and mistakes
  • Decrease stress before, during, and after competition
  • Create effective goal setting strategies
Attendees will have the opportunity to complete the 9 Mental Skills of Successful Athletes, an assessment tool which will provide a frame work for mental training.

Mr. Price has worked with professional athletes in the NFL and NBA, NCAA athletes, as well as athletes from a variety of amateur sports including tennis players, golfers of all levels, basketball players, gymnasts, hockey players, lacrosse players, soccer players, figure skaters, field hockey players, track and field athletes, and athletes from many other recreational sports.  His most recent work has been with the New York Giants, New Jersey Nets, and Montgomery County Department of Recreation.  He is a member of the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (NASPSA) and the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (AAASP).
